HardRx Safety & Precautions

HardRx is a prescription medication. Read this before you order, and tell the reviewing physician about every medication you take.

Emergency symptoms — seek care immediately

If you experience chest pain, vision changes, hearing loss, or an erection lasting more than 4 hours, seek emergency medical attention immediately or call 911. An erection lasting more than four hours (priapism) can cause permanent damage if untreated.

Dosing rules

  • Take only the dose your physician prescribed.
  • Do not take more than one dose in any 24-hour period. More does not work better and increases risk.
  • Place the tablet under the tongue and let it dissolve completely. Do not chew it or swallow it whole.
  • Do not share your medication with anyone. It was prescribed after a review of your health history.

Do not take HardRx if…

HardRx is not recommended for:

  • Men taking nitrates. Nitroglycerin, isosorbide mononitrate, isosorbide dinitrate and similar drugs used for chest pain. Combined with a PDE5 inhibitor these can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. This includes recreational “poppers” (amyl nitrite).
  • Men with severe heart disease. Sexual activity itself places demand on the heart, and PDE5 inhibitors affect blood pressure.
  • Men with very low blood pressure.
  • Anyone with a known allergy to sildenafil or tadalafil.

This is not a complete list of every situation in which HardRx may be inappropriate. The physician review exists precisely to catch what a web page cannot.

Common side effects

Most side effects are mild and temporary, and usually fade within a few hours:

  • Headache
  • Flushing
  • Dizziness
  • Nasal congestion
  • Indigestion
  • Back pain

If side effects are severe, persistent, or worrying, stop taking HardRx and contact a healthcare provider.

Tell the physician about every medication

Interactions are the main safety concern with PDE5 inhibitors. Disclose everything — prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, supplements and recreational substances. Nitrates matter most, but alpha-blockers, certain antifungals and antibiotics, and some HIV medications can also interact. Blood-pressure medication combined with a PDE5 inhibitor can amplify a drop in blood pressure.

Leaving something out is the risk

A physician can only screen against what you disclose. Omitting a medication to improve your chance of approval removes the protection the review is there to give you.

Storage and handling

  • Store as directed on your medication label, away from heat and moisture.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Do not use medication past its expiry date.

Talk to your own doctor too

Erectile dysfunction can be an early sign of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hormonal problems or medication side effects, because the small blood vessels involved are affected before larger ones are. Treating the symptom is reasonable. Ignoring what is causing it is not — keep your regular physician in the loop.
